Solomon Heifets earned his Master in Education degree from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst, MA. Before coming to Belfast, Solomon created and taught project-based farming, forestry, and English curriculum at the Maine Academy of Natural Sciences in Hinkley, ME, and coordinated an AmeriCorps program in two rural school districts in central Maine.
Solomon lives with his family on a small farm in South China, Maine, where he manages a herd of dairy goats and produces small-batch artisanal cheeses for sale through CSA and local farm-stores.
